Country music had a great time on Wednesday night, as CMA Awards were presented. CMA Awards were presented.
A first time nominee Lainey Wilson was the top of the list of nominees heading into the show . She ended the evening with major awards which included the best new artist and female singer award of the year.
The emotional Wilson announced in his acceptance remarks: “I know I’m new to many people But I’m going to not let you all down. I promise you.”
Luke Combs also had a spectacular night, taking the stage as an entertainer and a winner. Combs received the highly sought-after entertainment of the year award as well as Album of the Year.
The evening began with a poignant tribute to famous Loretta Lynn, which featured Miranda Lambert, Reba McEntire and Carrie Underwood taking the stage together. Jerry Lee Lewis, who passed away in the month of May at age 87 was also honored during an appearance by Elle King and The Black Keys.
The other performers were Kelly Clarkson, who performed along with Kelsea Ballerini, Carly Pearce, and Luke Bryan who performed the double role of host with Peyton Manning.
Dierks Bentley as well as Wilson were among the many artists who took to the stage in order to pay tribute to Alan Jackson, the recipient of the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award.
