UFC 283 fight fallout Jamahal Hill against Jiri Prochazka. What’s next for Gilbert Burns and Brandon Moreno?

Hill defeated Teixeira in UFC 283 to win the title that Prochazka had vacated.

Jamahal Hill is undisputed UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, but Jiri Prochazka hangs in the shadows. In the wake of UFC 283, there are many worthy fights, including Hill vs. Prochazka.

Hill, who was 205 pounds, was an unknown commodity at the time he was suddenly inserted in the title picture. After a crushing of Glover Teixeira at the main event of UFC 283 Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Hill’s worthiness can not be denied. Prochazka’s injury recovery is progressing well and the two could collide this summer.

Two divisions are given new life after the conclusion of a unique quadrilogy between Brandon Moreno & Deiveson Figueiredo. Figueiredo was defeated by Moreno, claiming the series and opening the door for new competitors. Figueiredo has announced his intention to move to bantamweight and has filled the multiverse with new matchups.

Division for light heavyweight

UFC light heavyweight champion — Jamahal Hill (c), vs. JiriProchazka: Hill displayed a lot of growth during a dominant performance against Teixeira. Hill managed to overcome more than a dozen Teixeira takedowns and he won five rounds beating the former champion. Hill is the UFC’s undisputed light heavyweight champion. However, many will see his time as a seat warmer for the true king of the division. Prochazka lost the title in December after sustaining an injury. He hopes to regain it around June. Although the UFC might decide to book Hill in a title bout before Prochazka recovers, there are not many contenders. After their last-minute snoozer, Magomed Ankalaev’s and Jan Blachowicz seem to have lost favor with Dana White, UFC president. Aleksandar Rakic, Anthony Smith and others need more high-profile wins. It is best to wait until Hill vs. Prochazka.

Flyweight division

UFC flyweight champion — Brandon Moreno (c), vs. Alexandre Pantoja 2. It took four fights but Moreno can now put Figueiredo in his rearview mirror and look forward to new challenges. Ironically, Moreno is now looking back at his past to see what the future holds. Pantoja currently ranks No. Pantoja is currently ranked No. 2 in the division, with consecutive wins over Brandon Royval, Manel Kape and Alex Perez. Pantoja won a unanimous decision. After that fight, Moreno was released from the UFC and returned to start a run that would lead him to his first title. Pantoja defeated Moreno by submission in an exhibition fight on “The Ultimate Fighter: Tournament of Champions.” Both fighters have made tremendous progress. This is a new matchup in the division, and it has a story of revenge for their reigning champion.

Bantamweight division

Deiveson Figueiredo against the loser of Cory Sandhagen: Marlon Vera was Marlon’s bantamweight opponent, and Figueiredo was so dominant at flyweight, he should have a top-15 opponent. Figueiredo is not required to be at the top of the division immediately. Figueiredo could be facing the perfect challenge at 135 pounds in February’s Fight Night headliner, which will feature Sandhagen against Vera. The winner of the fight will have the option to win the fight over Figueiredo, or it could be used as a launch pad for Figueiredo, the former flyweight champion. It strikes the right balance between name value and competition. Both should produce fireworks.

Welterweight division

Gilbert Burns vs. Belal Mohammed: Burns passionately called for Colby Covington following his victory over Neil Magny. But I doubt the UFC will grant him that fight. The promotion should encourage a fight between Covington & Khamzat Chimiaev as soon possible. Chimaev has the UFC welterweight title in his sights, but must prove that he is capable of making championship weight after a bout with Nate Diaz was cancelled. Muhammad and Burns are ranked No. 4, and No. 5, respectively, in the welterweight division. 4 and No. 5 in the welterweight category, respectively. After stopping Sean Brady, Muhammad is firing on all cylinders and should be a top-five opponent. After running through Magny after losing to Kamaru Usman, Chimaev and Chimaev, Muhammad provides Burns with an appropriate acceleration of difficulty. Muhammad and Burns are great wrestlers who don’t mind trading shots. It could be a fun fight.
