Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema is set to be back for Real Madrid against RB Leipzig on Tuesday, after being left out of the match against Sevilla during LaLiga on Saturday due to “muscular fatigue.”
Benzema who became the very first French player to be awarded the Ballon d’Or since Zinedine Zidane in 1998, experienced discomfort during Madrid’s last training session of the week on Friday.
Although he was initially part of the matchday team on Saturday, some sources informed ESPN that he was doubtful for Saturday’s match. the player has been removed.
“Following tests carried out on Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with muscular fatigue in the quadricep muscle of his left leg,” the club announced in an announcement.
In a press conference after Madrid defeated Sevilla 3-1 The coach Carlo Ancelotti said he thought Benzema could be ready for already qualified Spain’s Champions League clash in Germany in midweek.
