Jacobs is rewarded for his big day with TD in overtime, Raiders defeated Seahawks

SEATTLE Seattle When Josh Jacobs slipped past the Seattle defense’s last line and slipped past the last line, all that was his path was an the field, and a spot among the best single-game performance during NFL history.

Jacobs ran 86 yards to score a game-winning touchdown as his team Las Vegas Raiders won in overtime for the second consecutive week and beat Seattle Seahawks by a score of 40 to 34 on the Sunday.

“When I reach the gapand I can see an immense hole and tried to get at the speed I could,” Jacobs said.

Jacobs recorded a record-setting franchise total of 229 yards of rushing and scored two points. He also threw six passes for 74 yards and his 303 yards from the scrimmage were the highest ever recorded by the franchise and seventh-highest total in the game of the Super Bowl era.

Jacobs was the only player to have an TD run that was longer than 28 yards. his remarkable sprint reminded of Raiders’ Bo Jackson running unnoticed for a long TD with the Seahawks in the Kingdome on November. 30 in 1987.

A good performance for a man who was listed as questionable for the game because of an injury to his calf. There was no doubt regarding Jacobs his performance after his first game.

“To watch him finish in that manner, I’m aware of the challenges he’s faced I know how hard it is for him to work. It was awesome to witness that,” Raiders quarterback Derek Carr said.

Las Vegas (4-7) finished with 283 rushing yards and its total of 576 yards was the third most ever allowed to Seahawks. Seahawks (6-5) the team that were one game behind San Francisco in the NFC West.

“He’s extremely difficult to take down. He’s a tough runner who has great balance. It’s important to take him down,” Seattle defensive tackle Shelby Harris said. “He’s certainly not one of the backs who is hit and is thrown down. He earns money from breaking tackles and gaining the additional yards.”

Las Vegas forced overtime thanks to Carr’s five-yard touchdown pass towards Foster Moreau in the corner of the end zone with just 1:54 left which made it 34-all. Carr was intercepted on the opening play, but completed 25 of his 36 passes for 3 touchdowns and 295 yards.

The Raiders also had a break during the game when Jacobs appeared to stumble in the 10 minutes prior to Moreau’s touchdown, but officials determined that his forward progression was prevented.

“It began from the very first play and ended with the final. The first play was an interception and the final play is a touchdown” Raiders coach Josh McDaniels stated. “There were a lot of variations in this game.”

Seattle has lost its second consecutive game after losing against Tampa Bay two weeks ago in Germany. Geno Smith was 27-of 37 passing for 328 yards with two touchdowns. However, Seattle’s rushing attack was a struggle for the second consecutive game however Kenneth Walker III ran for two touchdowns.

The game ended in overtime. Daniel Carlson missed a field goal attempt of 56 yards during Las Vegas’ first possession. However, Seattle did not score, and on the next play out of the scrimmage area, Jacobs got loose.

Jacobs was the fourth player of the Super Bowl era with at 300 scrimmage miles and two touchdowns in one game as well as the first player ever since Adrian Peterson set the single-game record for the most rushing distance (296) back in 2007. Jacobs is only the second player in history since 1950 to have minimum 225 yards of rushing and 70 yards of receiving during the exact same match.

“It’s quite bizarre, arriving and not knowing whether I was going to play, and then looking at the guys with a smile and telling them that they’re going to be able to do all they can out of my body,” Jacobs said.

The score of 86 yards TD touchdown was the fourth longest overtime touchdown in the history of the league.

“Josh was absolutely fantastic today. He played a fantastic game and we didn’t attack as effectively as we should and we didn’t plan in the way we needed to.” Seattle coach Pete Carroll stated.

In the majority time, the match seemed Las Vegas would squander its chance to take the lead despite its unstoppable offensive rushing. McDaniels repeatedly chose that he would kick goal-posts, instead of keeping his offense in the field. He also made a head-scratching the ball to Jacobs during the 4th quarter on fourth-down. Seattle was able to stop.

However, Carr was awe-inspiring during the tie-breaking drive in regulation. He was 6-of-8, including an amazing one-handed catch made by Davante Adams, who ran 28 yards. He also carried his touchdown throw to Moreau precisely in the back corner.

Seattle had one last chance to win the game in regulation. It appeared that they had a chance to win in midfield after Smith’s passing to DK Metcalf, who was left with 57 seconds remaining. After a long review it was found that Metcalf didn’t possess control of the ball when he ran over and struck the sideline. Smith was then sacked by Maxx Crosby the following play, and Seattle punted.
