Selena Gomez brushed off online body shaming after her appearance on the red carpet at Golden Globes on Tuesday.
The producer, singer and actress posted on Instagram with her boyfriend and her younger sister Gracie Teefey, to talk about body positive.
“I’m a little bit big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays,” she told me, while inquiring Teefey, “I mean… right?”
“Yeah!” Teefey replied.
The supporters have been quick to stand up for Gomez.
“She shouldn’t have to explain why her body looks how it does,” one user wrote in a comment.
“She’s perfect and doesn’t need to give explanations,” wrote another.
Gomez received nominations for her part for”Only Murders in the Building” on Hulu “Only Murders in the Building.”
She also offered similar responses to people who were critical of her appearance, telling her fans “Honestly I don’t really care about my weight since people sneer about it… “You’re way too tiny,’ too large and it doesn’t suit you and na-na-neh-nehhh… I’m perfectly me as I am. The moral in the matter? Byyye!”
