In an update on Facebook the agency stated that in the past four weeks Search and rescue teams have completed to 14 rescue operations on Mt. Baldy and the vicinity.
“These rescue missions were for lost, stranded or injured hikers. Unfortunately, in the last four weeks two hikers didn’t recover from injuries sustained when they fell and injured their own bodies,” the post said. “The recent storms that brought the snow and ice conditions are not favorable for hikers, even those that feel they have a high level of experience.”
Other credits for Sands include films such as “The Killing Fields” and “Leaving Las Vegas” and television shows such as “Smallville.”
