Miles Teller Self-Deprecates in ‘SNL’ Monologue

The star of ‘Top Gun’ joked that when Tom Cruise performed his own stunts, he also grew his own mustache.

MILES TELLER’S MAIDEN SNL monologue was mostly an auto-deprecation.

“I know they like when you do impressions and play different celebrities, and I wanted to come prepared,” Teller began. “So I asked some of my buddies which celebrity I look like. I was thinking about a young DeNiro, perhaps or a Paul Newman. Then they said”No! Rachel Maddow. ‘”

Teller’s first appearance on the late-night talk show was a chance to see that the Top Gun: Maverick star refer to the Joseph Kosinski-directed blockbuster sequel that surpassed the $700 million mark on the North American box office after an Labor Day weekend resurgence.

This season, Teller played Kosinski’s Spiderhead the psychological thriller that was released on Netflix just a few months following the time that Top Gun hit theaters. Teller is also the character in the role of director Albert Ruddy in The Offer The Offer, a drama miniseries which was released in April and focused on the film’s creator The Godfather by Francis Ford Coppola.
